Physiotherapy

(improves a child’s physical mobility)

The physiotherapy program is made up of physiotherapists (PT) and physiotherapy assistants (PTA). This program is for children from birth to the beginning of grade one. PTs and PTAs work together with you and your family to help your child move and play.

PT Child x2

PTs look at:

  • Muscle strength and flexibility
  • Balance and coordination
  • How your child moves around at home, school, or in the community

Once a PT meets your child, a plan is made with you and your child. The plan may include:

  • Individual or group therapy with a PT or PTA
  • Home/School program
  • Monitoring
  • Consultation with team members (other therapists, day care, school, etc.)
  • Recommendations for positioning or mobility equipment
