Last month, Chatham, Dresden and Wallaceburg Tim Hortons locations participated in the national, week-long Smile Cookie campaign, donating all of the local proceeds from every Smile Cookie sale to the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation.
From September 12th through September 18th, Chatham-Kent indulged in Tim Hortons’ $1 Smile Cookies, eating their way through $16,220, all in support of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation.
Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie campaign began in 1996 as a way to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital, and has grown to become a major fundraising event at Tim Hortons restaurants. Nationally, Tim Hortons restaurant owners support 460 Canadian charities, hospitals and community programs through the campaign. Last year’s campaign raised over $6.3 million across Canada- and Chatham-Kent raised $11,060 of this total for the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation.
Funds from this year’s Smile Cookie campaign will help support the Centre’s enhanced services, such as Social Work, Music Therapy and Adapted Recreation, which are not fully covered by government funding. The Centre’s enhanced programs compliment and build on the Centre’s core programs, providing the children in our community the physical, communication, and life skills needed to reach their full potential.
The Children’s Treatment Centre and Foundation are incredibly grateful for the Chatham, Dresden and Wallaceburg Tim Hortons locations, and the community’s, continued support.
