CHATHAM, ONTARIO (May 28, 2019) – The IODE Captain Garnet Brackin group have been supporting local charities through bingos for over 35 years. This week, members of the IODE group presented Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent with a cheque for $5,000 with proceeds from Riverview Bingo in Chatham.
This donation, in combination with the donation from the IODE Christmas House Tour in November, will total $10,000 and will be designated towards a Family Meeting Room at the new building.
“As a parent of a child that has gone to the Children’s Treatment Centre, a Family Meeting Room is something that I wish we would have been able to use during our time there.” Tracy Bultje, “Our sincere thanks to the IODE group for designating funds towards this space for the new Children’s Treatment Centre.”
The Children’s Treatment Centre needs to build to better serve its growing caseload and the needs of the children and families in Chatham-Kent. The new facility will feature a new gym, rooms dedicated to therapy, an updated pool to be used by clients and the community and more offices for staff and charting. The centre will also be fully compliant with Ontario’s accessibility standards.
