FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2022/03/23
(Chatham-Kent) – The Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC-CK) was pleased to learn that it was Accredited with Commendation following the completion of their Accreditation Survey in November 2021. Receiving commendation means the organization surpassed the fundamental requirements of the accreditation program.
Over a three-day period at the end of November 2021, the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC-CK), participated in Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum accreditation program. As an independent, not-for-profit organization, Accreditation Canada sets standards for quality and safety in healthcare. CTC-CK takes part in accreditation on a four-year cycle and is assessed under standards examining Governance, Leadership, Infection Prevention and Control, and care provision practices.
“The past two years have been exceptionally challenging for our staff and clients to include both virtual and in person services, while always maintaining safety and quality care. I am proud of the high level of service our staff continues to be able to provide to our community. Receiving Accreditation with Commendation validates the exceptional level of service we strive to provide each and every day” says Donna Litwin-Makey, CTC-CK Executive Director. “I would also like to thank the families, staff, community partners and surveyors that spent time at our centre or virtually through focus groups and meetings. It truly takes a team to support the best services for our valued families, children and youth!”
The CTC-CK will continue to strengthen its efforts to build a robust and widespread culture of quality and safety. With the support of all our community partners, safety and quality care will always be a leading principle in the service we deliver to our clients and families.
The CTC-CK is very thankful for the hard work and dedication of its staff in achieving accreditation status. Some of the staff involved in the accreditation survey are (from left to right) Tina Jamieson, Erica Robertson, Rachel Guerin, Crystal Gagnon.
