New Electronic Health Records
New Electronic Health Records
We’re moving to a new electronic health record system
Starting February 20, 2024, the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham Kent will move to a new electronic health record system (EHR) —- the software that stores personal health information and tracks all aspects of client and family care. The new EHR system will enhance documentation, safety, quality, and services for staff, clients, and families.
Why is the CTC-CK transitioning to a new EHR?
Empowered Kids Ontario (EKO), the association representing Ontario’s publicly funded child development and rehabilitation sector, was contracted with the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace to source a new EHR for all member organizations (which includes CTC-CK)). Alayacare was selected as the preferred EHR that will offer member organizations an EHR that is modern, efficient, safe, and secure.
If you are contacting or receiving services from the CTC-CK between February and April 2024:
- You may experience some delays in services, receiving reports, phone calls and emails, as we get used to the new EHR system.
- We will not be able to schedule new appointments or reschedule appointments from February 14-February 16, 2024. Please contact us after February 20th regarding an appointment.
What are some expected benefits of the new system:
- Updated safety and security for personal health information
- Future plans include a Family Portal which will make it easier for clients and families to access their personal health information.
- Family friendly reports and letters
- Quicker access to your future appointments
Thank you for your patience!
