School Based Rehabilitation Services

The Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC-CK) provides School-Based Rehabilitation Services (SBRS) ) to students from JK through secondary school exit, with rehabilitation needs that impact their ability to safely access the curriculum and functionally participate in school.  These services are provided in collaboration with the following publicly funded school boards:

  • Conseil scolaire catholique Providence
  • Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB)
  • St. Clair Catholic District School Board (SCCDSB)

Who We Are:

The SBRS team is made up of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Assistants, Speech and Language Pathologists, and Communicative Disorders Assistants.

What We Provide:

We work alongside students, families, and educators to support meaningful participation at school. Together, we identify goals and develop practical strategies that help students build the skills they need to access learning and complete daily school activities.

Our services may include:

  • Inclusive classroom strategies and supports that promote participation for all learners
  • Collaboration with teachers to develop effective classroom supports and share resources
  • Parent and caregiver coaching and resources to reinforce learning at home
  • Consultation with families and school teams to support school-based goals
  • Individual or small-group sessions that address skills needed for success at school
  • Home activities that complement and reinforce school-based learning
