Meet The Team

Brian White
Brian is the Behaviour Services Coordinator at the Children’s Treatment Center. Brian has helped support young children and their families for the last 17 years. He has studied Developmental Services Worker and St. Clair College, Autism Behavioural Science at Seneca College.
Much of his work has involved supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities, and behavioural challenges. His approach is thoughtful, person-centered, and flexible, with a focus on building confidence and connection through everyday routines and experiences to reach clients goals.

Jenna Westra
Jenna is a pediatric occupational therapist who believes therapy should be both fun and meaningful. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Child, Youth, and Family Studies at the University of Guelph, followed by a Master’s in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. Jenna is dedicated to providing neuro-affirming, strength-based therapy that supports children in growing and succeeding in ways that matter to them and their families.
Jenna has pursued further education in areas such as sensory-based feeding and picky eating, neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT), sensory-based interventions, and supporting children with activities of daily living. These specialized courses have enriched her ability to create personalized, effective interventions that meet each child’s unique needs.
She’s passionate about making progress—while having fun along the way!

Kaitlyn Smoke
Kaitlyn graduated from McGill University with a Masters in Communication Sciences & Disorders (Speech Language Pathology) in 2023, following completion of Bachelor’s in Linguistics & Language Studies at Glendon College York University. Kaitlyn enjoys working with both the preschool and school age populations, as is passionate about ensuring everyone has an opportunity to communicate effectively and interact with others.
Growing up with an older sister who faced communication challenges and used head switches to communicate, it’s no surprise that from a young age she has been passionate about ensuring everyone has an opportunity to be heard and understood by others. Kaitlyn enjoys supporting clients with Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC), speech sound disorders, early language development strategies, and literacy.
Kaitlyn is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). She is fluent in both English and French, and able to service clients in both languages.

Melissa Gillett
Melissa is a Behaviour Consultant who has spent over 15 years supporting young children and
their families. She studied Family Studies at Western University, focusing on Child Psychology,
and also holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Much of her work has involved supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder,
developmental disabilities, and behavioural challenges.
Melissa’s approach is grounded in empathy, shaped by her own experience as a parent of a
child with Fragile X Syndrome and Autism. This personal perspective helps her connect with
families in a meaningful way, offering both professional insight and genuine understanding.
She values working closely with families and other professionals to create supportive, realistic
strategies that help children thrive.

Nichole Summerfield
Nichole graduated from Wayne State University with a Masters in Speech and Language Pathology in 2010. She has 15 years experience working with both the preschool and school age population. Supporting children and families to achieve their goals with communication is her passion!
Nichole has a wide range of early language intervention Hanen certifications, including It Takes Two to Talk®, More Than Words®, Target Word®, TalkAbility®, 4 I’S to Socialize®, as well as Introduction and Bridging to PROMPT Technique.
Nichole is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).

Tamsin Magor
Tamsin graduated from McMaster University in 2020 with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Tamsin enjoys working with children of all ages and their families to achieve their communication goals!
Tamsin has experience supporting clients with early language development, speech sound disorders, stuttering, social communication skills and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Tamsin is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).

Vanessa Laidlaw
Vanessa is a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) with six years of experience supporting toddlers, school-aged children, and teens. She completed her Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis at Wayne State University and is registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).
Vanessa uses evidence-based strategies to support skill development in ways that are practical and meaningful for each individual. She works closely with children, adolescents, and their families to create goals that reflect what matters most to them. Her approach is thoughtful, person-centered, and flexible, with a focus on building confidence and connection through everyday routines and experiences.

Veronica Attewell
Veronica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour from McMaster University, as well as a graduate certificate in Concurrent Disorders from Mohawk College. She brings over 11 years of experience working with individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities. Veronica is a Child Development Support Worker, where she supports children with Autism and/or behavioural challenges. In her role, she collaborates closely with caregivers, CTC-CK clinicians, childcare providers, and schools to help children achieve their developmental and behavioural goals.
