The SmartStart Hub at the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC-CK) provides a front door to services for families and caregivers concerned about their child or youth’s development and daily functioning related to development.
As a SmartStart Hub, the CTC-CK will help identify your child or youth’s strengths, needs and goals. We will provide connections and information about resources, supports, and services that will help meet your goals and needs.
Who We Are:
The team is made up of Service Navigators who are knowledgeable about community services and resources, knowledgeable in child/ youth development, and will be able to help you develop a plan to address your child and family needs.
What We Provide:
The CTC-CK’s service navigation team will have an exploratory conversation with you to discuss your concerns and work with you to develop a plan to help your family meet the developmental needs of your child.
Your plan may include:
- Connections to other services
- Information about supports and services to help meet your goals
- Resources to help you start to help your child
Developmental services may help if you have concerns about your child or youth’s ability to:
- Move around or use their hands
- Perform daily activities such as feeding and/or eating
- Understand other people
- Telling people what they want
- Participating in activities at home or in the community
- Get along with other children, adults, people
